Recently, rumors have been circulating that Valve is working on the "Steam Controller 2," codenamed "Ibex." According to these rumors, the new accessory will look like a standard game controller but with slightly smaller trackpads than the original Steam Controller. It will also feature symmetrical analog sticks.

YouTuber Brad Lynch, who first shared this rumor, has now revealed a render of the possible new controller. He claims to have found the render in the SteamVR drivers. The image shows a controller with symmetrical analog sticks, as expected. You can view the render below.

The first Steam Controller was released in 2015, but Valve stopped selling it four years later. This was partly due to a lawsuit over the rear buttons on the controller, which were said to violate a patent. Valve lost the case and was ordered to pay $4 million in damages, although the company later successfully appealed. Some speculate that Valve is now working on a new version of the controller partly because of this.

As of now, the Steam Controller 2 has not been officially announced.
