Your kid wants their own game server. Now what?
Don't worry — this page explains in plain language what a game server is, what it costs and how to set it up safely. You'll know everything in two minutes.
What is a game server?
A game server is a private game world for games like Minecraft. Your kid decides who gets to join — usually just friends or classmates. The server doesn't run on your computer at home, but on our equipment in the Netherlands.
What does it cost?
A server for a group of friends costs a few euros per month — the price is always shown in full, including VAT. Payment works through iDEAL or Bancontact, so through a bank account. That is probably why your kid is asking for your help at checkout.
Are you locked in?
No. You can cancel every month, with two clicks in our panel. No phone call, no notice-period tricks. If your kid cancels, payments stop after the period you bought — done.
Is it safe?
The server can only be reached by players who have the address. Our systems protect it against attacks day and night, and every night we automatically back up your kid's game world.
Does it come at a cost?
The server runs on our side, so your computer and home internet are not affected. And a private server with friends is often social in the best way: building together, making plans, agreeing on rules.
