In the first three days after its release, ten million people worldwide have played Marvel Rivals. NetEase announced this on social media. In the free-to-play PvP shooter Marvel Rivals for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles, two teams of six players compete in iconic locations with various characters from the Marvel franchise. Using Team-Up abilities, heroes can combine moves, like Rocket Raccoon riding on Groot's back. Players can choose from a wide selection of heroes and villains from groups like the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, and more.

Recently, more details were shared about how seasons work in Marvel Rivals. Last Friday, "Season 0" launched under the name Doom’s Rise. This season lasts only a month and includes 33 playable characters, eight maps for quick matches and competitive modes, a conquest map, and a training area. The season focuses on Doom, who creates the Timestream Entanglement, leading to four new Chronoverses: Techno-Dystopia 2099, Mosaic Timeline: Unstable Space-Time, Present: Evil Strikes, and Collapsing Timeline: Even the Gods Die. The first full season begins in early January. Starting with Season 1, each season will add new playable characters, maps, Team-Up moves, and sometimes new modes. Each season lasts about three months, and all new content like characters and maps will always be free. It was also confirmed that paid battle passes will not expire. Players who purchase them will have unlimited time to unlock everything.
