A photo of what is believed to be the packaging for the Nvidia RTX 5080 has surfaced, confirming some of its specifications. Additionally, leakers have shared the rumored TDPs for the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. Both GPUs are expected to be released soon.
The packaging of a custom RTX 5080 was spotted in a now-deleted Chiphell post, as noted by VideoCardz. It is the OC edition of an MSI Gaming Trio model. According to the back of the box, this GPU features 16GB of GDDR7 memory and a 256-bit memory bus, which aligns with earlier rumors. The packaging also confirms that this model includes three DisplayPorts and one HDMI port, though the exact versions are not specified. Nvidia is reportedly planning to include support for DisplayPort 2.1a.
Meanwhile, some well-known leakers on X have revealed the rumored TDPs for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. According to hongxing2020, the RTX 5090 will have a TDP of 575W. Kopite7kimi confirmed this and added that the RTX 5080 will have a 360W TDP. These values are 25W and 40W lower than some earlier rumors, which might have referred to the TBP instead.
Nvidia is scheduled to hold a keynote on January 7 during CES in Las Vegas. It is expected that the company will discuss the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 at that event. The RTX 5080 is rumored to be the first Blackwell GPU to launch, with a release date of January 21. The release date for the RTX 5090 remains unclear.
